Are there any contemporary movies like The Land Before Time or the like?

I mean like the first one, the kind that doesn't involve sing-a-longs, features a meaningful story, has good characters, a good soundtrack, and great art design. I keep trying to look for titles in the 2D field, but a good amount of the best ones are 3D.
