Is "28 Days Later" really a HORROR film, or is it just GOREY?

I want to see it, but all the reviews of it say how "scary" it is. I don't mind suspense. I definatly don't mind gore or dismemberment. I just can't stand scary. I watched "Scarface" yesterday and it didn't bother me, but I would never watch something like the Exorcist. What general part of it is considered scary?
